The word “ink” reminds us of various things like creativity, drawing, writing, etc. It helps us express our views, creativity, and whatnot. That it is how important it is to us. It brings life to our creativity and imagination. A tool that supports the use of ink is a pen. They were initially used for writing and only blue inks were used in these pens. But nowadays, pens are available in different colors that use different inks. To give more life to our pictures and add more colors to them, sketch pens came into the picture. These pens were available in different colors and were very attractive especially to kids. Adults also used certain colored sketch pens quite often.
Marker pens
The marker pens or sketch pens were designed using sponge filled with ink. The tip of the pen is also made of sponge. These pens are available in various types. Let’s take a look at these types.
- Permanent markers
These markers are usually used on glass and plastic surfaces for long term marks. They are usually not affected by rubbing and water. But in some plastics like Teflon the marks made by these markers can be easily erased.
- Highlighters
These pens are used to highlight sentences by covering the existing writing with its ink. The underlying text is still readable. They are usually produced in neon colors and they are usually attractive.
- Whiteboard markers
This type of marker consists of erasable ink and it is used for writing on non-porous surfaces with a matte finish. The ink is usually erasable by wiping with a cloth or other similar products.
Fixing ink mistakes
Ink on paper can bring out one’s thoughts, creativity, etc but we sometimes tend to make mistakes while using it and that spoils the entire idea. When we use pencils for sketching it is easier to correct our mistakes with an eraser but when you use pens of any type with ink, it becomes difficult to correct the mistake. A small flaw on the paper can always ruin your precious artwork and it is important to find a tool that erases the flaw within minutes. To help us with this problem came the correction pen. These corrector pens helped us correct mistakes even with ink. They are also available in different types.
- Overwriting corrector pens
These pens usually contain a white liquid that is usually spread across the wrong word for correction. It almost matches the color of the white paper and one can write over this layer after letting the liquid dry. Though it is quite useful in case of minor mistakes on paper, it made it easier to spot the corrected area in case of large sentences.
- Ink absorbing corrector pens
These pens were more advanced than the previous version of correction pen since it directly absorbed the ink rather than overwriting it. This made the writing more presentable and it was difficult to spot the area that had been corrected. These pens grew into popularity and they largely replaced the other corrector pen.
